Shayna Nicolay
I’m a fourth-year journalism student at Ryerson University in Toronto who is passionate about learning the stories of people around me. I am currently the editorial intern for Fashion Fundamentals and the Editor-in-Chief of Ryerson Folio magazine. In the little free time I have, you can usually find me on a walk in downtown Toronto parks, cooking my favourite recipes, or watching (probably too much) TV. Julia Meehan
I am Julia Meehan, a junior at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. I am majoring in journalism and mass communications with a minor in women and gender studies. I am currently a contributing writer for Fashion Fundamentals. Other than FF, I am a copy editor for TREND magazine, a student-run publication on campus that covers, fashion, beauty and lifestyle for all.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, binge-watching reality tv shows, listening to music on Spotify or relaxing with friends. My career goal is to either become a fashion writer for a for women, by women magazine or a sports broadcaster for a sports channel. Yes, I know two total opposites. 🙂
Lauryn Jiles
My name is Lauryn and I’m a public relations and marketing student at the University of South Carolina. I’m a freelance Fashion, Beauty, and Entertainment writer. My goals are to one for a Fashion publication or go into Fashion PR. In my free time I like to hang out with friends, watch YouTube videos, travel, and try different coffee and tea shops.
Sally Espinosa
I am a Miami-based freelance writer and editor and writes mostly about fashion, personal style and influencer marketing. I write a weekly fashion newsletter on Substack called The Sartorial Edit and always has a cup of coffee that will most definitely be reheated multiple times. When I’m not writing, I’m hanging out with her three kids.
Jenna Legge
I am a first year journalism and Legal studies student at Carleton University in Ottawa. I am currently living in Newfoundland with my family because of the pandemic. I have always loved to write as it is a fantastic creative outlet, and I plan on pursuing a career in journalism after university.
I am looking forward to expressing my love of fashion through writing for fashion fundamentals and providing helpful tips and tricks to the FF community. A fun fact about me is that I am a competitive artistic swimmer.
