Jordan Gill: Founder of New York City Stylist

Jordan Gill is a retail buyer and blogger. She founded her blog, New York City Stylist in Jan. of 2015. She specializes in retail consulting, content creation and product curation. Within her role, Gill manages a successful blog and social media, collaborates with hundreds of internationally recognized brands, and has grown @newyorkcitystylist to 24k followers.

After graduating from Indiana University, where she studied Marketing and Apparel Merchandising, Gill started working at Macy’s as a Buying Trainee. She worked her way up from there, taking positions as an Assistant Buyer, Divisional Business Manager, Associate Buyer, and finally a Buying Director.

While at Macy’s, Gill was nervous to have anyone find out about her blog. Although, when her blog started growing, it became an additional skillset that she could bring to the table. This led her to being asked to help on additional projects within the company. Gill helped create Macy’s Style Crew, an ambassador program that grew rapidly within the first two years.

During her time at Indiana University, Gill was able to intern with Studio 204 Photography, Lockett’s Ladies Shop, Cummins Engine Company, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. She was a member of the Retail Studies Organization, Kelley Retail Association, Kappa Delta Sorority (Social Chair), and O2 Max Fitness.
